Coffee Culture in Vietnam


Caffeine lovers unite! We have found your perfect destination! We honestly never thought that Vietnam would be the go to place for coffee shops and coffee culture, but it turns out we were very wrong! On everyone corner, every second shop and street vendor sells coffee. It’s usually iced and it oddly enough comes with free tea, if you’re vietnamese that is. It’s a bit of an art really, although it is so simple. They take their coffee and brew it and let it drip down into the cup using a small metal pot and strainer, most vendors will have this already mixed up but at a coffee shop you get to watch it happen (note: patience is required here). They then mix the coffee, some sugar syrup (it’s much easier since sugar wouldn’t dissolve into cold coffee) and a bunch of ice. That’s pretty much it. It’s rare to…
